I liked the book Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte because it was a traditional book topic where the protagonists in this book, Jane, did not have the best child hood but in the end when she became an adult she became a successful person and found her true love. However, at first for Jane to be with her true love was not easy. Jane had to pass many conflicts in order for her to stay with Richard her lover. This book to me was a cliche even though it was published in 1847, a long time ago. I say this because we can read the same type of story but in simpler words. That was the reason why I disliked the book because there were parts that could have been rewritten in shorter words, but probably during 1847 to write the way the author wrote was normal. Compared to today the language of the book is more sophisticated. I give this book a two star rating.
Even though this book was different to the books we, young adults, read today, Christy, my 11th grade English teacher did a good job in assigning this book as a book club book. This was a great idea because when ever I had questions or did not understand a certain part of the book I was able to bring these questions up to my book club book so my group members can help me understand the book better and viceversa.
