Well, as my last day being a 11th grader I want to say that i feel that i can finally relax and chill the summer and just get ready for senior year. Forget about the stree i went thriugh and just enjoy every upcoming moment. I am si happy that finally i am senior and that i can say i feel proud of how much i have accomplished. For next year i have to practice to put study time as part of my homework and to work on my essays to get those ES. More in being precise because I need to also for college. I am really happy with grades this year even thouh they were not as high but because I have done so many things. I got a nice positioned in being Lisa the principals administrative assisstant and cannot wait for next year. I am happy for all the thngs i got this year like the nasa award and the aspirations award and the community service award. I am just thrilled! My Experience taking the Regents:Of course, no one likes to take regents those that know what that exam looks like. However, because I live in the NY state I have to take certain exams in order to graduate from High School and to move on to college. To me the English regents that i took in January of 2015 was not easy but not hard as well. I think this is because I practiced a lot during my english class period and at home. I got a 85 on my english regents.
My take away from this exam is that practice does help and that for me using flash cards also works to get a grade that I want at least even its not 100. Christy's preparation did help me a lot personally. I do want to work more on my essays on my language. I want my language to more sophisticated and being able to communicate better on paper just like i do out loud. Some goals I have for the next half of the year is to work on my language, grammer, and anything else i need to get my writing ready for college. I enjoyed The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison because her style of writing was so different that intrigued me so much into the book once I hit the middle of it. Her descriptions were well written that I was able to visually see in my mind what she wanted me to see. She is so good in writing her point of view straight across through showing and not telling which as a writer is something hard to do and I think its a technique that she has to be able to do it really well. As a reader I learned a lot during the book how we as people see each other in many different point of views and how some people are more dominant than others. This book had many deep quotes that really made myself think about not only myself on how I may see things and behave with people that surround me and my life but life in general because we as humans are all sharing one air, one planet.
I give this book a four star rating because of her talented writing skills and the topic of her story and even though I did enjoy reading the book it was not the type of book I would have probably read outside of school. I liked the book Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte because it was a traditional book topic where the protagonists in this book, Jane, did not have the best child hood but in the end when she became an adult she became a successful person and found her true love. However, at first for Jane to be with her true love was not easy. Jane had to pass many conflicts in order for her to stay with Richard her lover. This book to me was a cliche even though it was published in 1847, a long time ago. I say this because we can read the same type of story but in simpler words. That was the reason why I disliked the book because there were parts that could have been rewritten in shorter words, but probably during 1847 to write the way the author wrote was normal. Compared to today the language of the book is more sophisticated. I give this book a two star rating.
Even though this book was different to the books we, young adults, read today, Christy, my 11th grade English teacher did a good job in assigning this book as a book club book. This was a great idea because when ever I had questions or did not understand a certain part of the book I was able to bring these questions up to my book club book so my group members can help me understand the book better and viceversa. I enjoyed writing my I Believe essay because I was able to express a belief I have. A belief that maybe other people around the world also believe in. I don't know why but in some way I felt a relief because Christy my 11th grade teacher is so good at making my peers and I feel comfortable with our opinions in class. That helps us make our time writing our piece much better because we are sharing our thoughts with out being afraid to do so. This essay helped me think about my life and what I want in it, it made me think of a lot of things. Below is my I believe of: I believe Love Can Be Anything So far I am enjoying my english class this year. I like how the class is more liberable and focuses up to now more on yourself and what one wants in our own life.
